Eye Care for Autistic people

BAME Vision are pleased to be hosting a webinar about the support available to adults and children who are autistic about accessing good eye care.

 

Eye Healthcare is important for everyone to access!

We will be sharing our understanding of autistic characteristics, best practices on how to adapt appointments that are suitable and comfortable for the patient and the professional too, whilst engaging with the patient positively.  We will hear more about the LOCSU Eyecare Pathway, Eye Care Champions and their roles at SeeAbility, and hear from a lived experience speaker. Additionally, we will be joined by Moorfields Eye Hospital, who will explain about the support they offer to autistic children.

Jayshree Vasani – Dispensing Optician

Lance Campbell – Eye Care Champion, SeeAbility and lived experience speaker

Amrit Sehmi – Advanced Orthoptist- Moorfields Eye Hospital
